We don't have any official word from Royal Air Maroc just yet, but we've 'heard' they are pretty easy going for carrying boards. If anyone has flown with them please leave a comment saying what happened!

If you have flown with, or know a good tip specific to this airline, please
let everyone know by rating it and leaving a report here. Some airlines
don't apply (or even know) their own kit policies so it's useful to see
other people's experiences flying with them …

On the RAM website, French section, (http://www.royalairmaroc.com/Marchand/Fr/index.jsp?rub=1314&rubid=1329&idpara=2031) they mention special provisions for surf equipment : no extra charge if the luggage total dimension doesn't go over 203 cm (height + width + depth). But my travel agent says they could charge 450$ if it goes over this.. I'll be travelling at the end of March and will leave an updated post as soon as I can...

Flew with R.A M Christmas 2007. Was concerned about possible surfboard charges on checking in after trying to establish cost implications over the phone left me confused. Payment due, Payment not due, how much?????? Best if you speak French.
Need not have worried though. My partner in crime packed two std shortboards into a travel case and they were accespted without so much as a sideways glance. We don't generally travel with much luggage anyway - just one oversided gym bag between us so that probably helped. Best still - they came back in one piece. Certainly wouldn't hesitate to fly with them again next time.

Flew with R.A.M again over Christmas 08. No prob's going out - overall bag's and surfboards must be withing baggage allowance to avoid additional charges. Coming back, both surfboards were damaged - quite remarkeable as travel covers were well packed out with 1" of full length surfboard shaped polystyrene on either side. Still awaiting a damage report from R.A.M 1 month later for insurance. 1 X Creased nose + 1 x nose snapped off. Looks like they took some heavy joint impact. Aside from that all else was good.

No problem and no charges sure with RAM, third trip with them, I've never paid ! Even with my longboard or with a big 9' boardbag with 3 boards inside ! :)
Probably the best companies I know for surfer !
By the way, last march, I've been charge 20€ not by them but by Paris airport to transport surfboard from registering desk to the plane !
