Windsurfing The Gorge
Equipment Most windsurf brands can be rented at The Gorge so there is no need to bring your own equipment. Ski, snowboard and MTB rental is available from approx. £25 per day and is best rented locally. We recommend that windsurf equipment is pre-booked through us in advance to avoid disappointment.
I started windsurfing at age of 12 and was immediately hooked. I had my mind set on wave and freestyle after watching Josh Stone's videos, and set about learning all I could every day. My goal was to be a professional windsurfer when I turned 16 and so I left school to chase my dream of being a professional windsurfer funding my travels by working for a job agency.
I would do any thing to get enough money to fund my next training trip to a point where I was working a night shift and a day shift and sleeping for just 4 hours a day to save enough money to get to the next windy warm venue or competition!
I'm sponsored by Tushingham , Starboard, Spartan and Franklin and Marshall who have provided incredible support to get me to all UK competitions and to train abroad. I was crowned UK vice wave champion in 2010.
In 2011 I windsurfed to the max in Maui and I went on to Hood River (The Gorge) for the summer. This spot is so amazing that I decided to connect with Oceansource to organise a summer camp as the place is so worth visiting.
My 2012 aim is too keep on striving for the top in all UK events to get the top spot and compete on the world tour in as many events as I can. Keep pushing and having lots of fun along the way make fun videos for people to watch. Entertainment! Keep having fun whoop whoop!!!
